It’s dangerous being black at a Trump rally

On March 9, two men went to a Trump rally in Fayetteville, NC as a social experiment. Once there, Ronnie Rouse and Rakeem Jones learned that being black at a Trump rally can be dangerous.

While police were escorting Jones out, a Trumpeter elbows him in the head. Jones is taken down by the police while the attacker sits back down without question. Following this, as reported by Inside Edition, someone found the assaulter to ask him about what happened. “He’s not acting like an American. The next time we see him, we might have to kill him.” You can watch the horrible video here.

Trump did not create this blatant, violent racism that is supported by police. He created a “safe space” that has given courage to bigots to speak out and act on their hate. Jim Crow did not die…it bubbled just beneath the surface and we’re seeing it start to boil over.
